Screenplay formatting adds script-specific elements to the editor. Use it for screenplays, plays, scene drafts, or any writing that benefits from script structure.
When a document is in Screenplay mode, use the screenplay element dropdown to choose the current block type.
Use Command plus a number to switch screenplay element types quickly. Scene is Command+1, Dialogue is Command+5, Text is Command+8, and Outline is Command+0.
Screenplay settings can auto-create character assets from screenplay character names when a character asset group is selected.
If Screenplay mode asks for setup, choose or create the character asset group that should receive screenplay characters.
